Being healthy shouldn’t have to be expensive… but it MIGHT be kind of annoying. At first.  It’s all about getting into a routine.  I go through 3-4 kg of veggies a week because I’ve been doing Paleo for so long that it’s no longer a “diet,” it’s just the way I eat.  70% of your immune system is found in your stomach so it’s import to focus on your diet and sleep cycle when you’re trying to make noticeable changes in your life.

For that reason: I clean, I eat local, and I ONLY eat real food… even in China. So there’s no reason that you can’t when you’re living in not-China.

Here’s my go-to recipe for my favorite and simple morning smoothie.  I prefer smoothies to juicing because I can still get a ton of veggies into my body AND preserve the fiber that each component is packed with!  The Institute of Medicine recommends about 38 grams of fiber for men and 25 grams for women, per day. My morning smoothie regularly has 15-18 grams.  The numbers have been confirmed. The cat is optional.


NOTE: Do NOT add juice for “flavor” because it’s packed with sugar (even orange juice).  By breaking your sugar-saturated routine in the morning with this smoothie, you’re freeing yourself slowly from the cravings. Please enjoy and spread the word!

Green Smoothie Of Greatness

As many green leafy things as you can fit into the blending apparatus
1 Banana
1/3 Cup of flax seeds
Fresh Ginger Root (Not powder)
Spoonful of Honey (optional)
½ Cup (or less) of Water (NOT juice. Stop asking.)


  1. Stuff as much green stuff into the blender as possible.  My go-to is kale or cilantro! Cilantro is great for recovery after crushing a CrossFit WOD and past PR’s.  Celebrate that shit.
  2. Add the banana, water, and the honey next.
  3. Then the flax seeds and fresh ginger root on top of everything. In that order.  This will insure that everything is properly blended.
  4. Blend and enjoy.  Feel free to make one for your gym buddy as a token of your affection.  You had me at squat rack <3
